Nice. Well done. Thank you. Just remember to keep the blue portion of the sky on the left separate from the yellow on the right. Then intermix between the two with the gray as shown. Otherwise you will wind up with green.😊

That brush looks awesome. I’m only now realizing it might not be my skills, it might be the cheap paper and $5-a-pack paintbrushes. I like my waterbrush more than my regular brushes, not sure if that says a lot about my brush quality or my painting style. Or both. And I prefer a cheap sketch pad to mixed media and cheap WC paper…. Definitely a commentary on cheap WC paper, when the color doesn’t settle evenly.

while most tree tutorials show how to paint a tree on a white background - this was an absolute masterclass. you factor in background, distance, size, groups, different types of trees, season, etc. I learned so much I applied this foundation to some convincing Palm trees! (I live in California)

I have learned so much from this tutorial and love practicing and seeing how colors mix. I have pages and pages of samples and yes, it is helpful to make notes on these practice pieces.

Thank you Olly. I put these two videos off for some time because together they came to nearly two hours but it was worth it. Please do not at cut anything. This was a valuable insight into the way a professional painter approaches a painting and what a wonderful sky. I still have difficulty with skies and will try this one as an exercise.
